Using analytics benchmarks to better understand your data

When you add cards to your analytics dashboard, you can choose to include Contently benchmarks for certain cards. These benchmarks help you compare your content's performance against other publications' performances in the Contently network.

1. To view benchmarks, you first need to add a new card to your analytics dashboard. Navigate to "Analytics" in the global navigation and click "Add Card" on the analytics overview page.

2. Choose which metric you'd like to measure and customize the appropriate settings. To include benchmarks on your new card, make sure to check the "Show Contently benchmark" box. Click "Save." Please note that benchmarks are only available for certain metrics.

3. The Contently benchmark will appear at the bottom of your new card, next to the change over time indicator on the card.

4. To better understand your benchmark, hover over the number for an explanation. Here you can see that this publication created 400% more stories than other publications in the Contently network during the selected time range.
